What will YOU do?
Ask yourself what you have always wished would change in this world. It could be as local as nursing home conditions or as global as world hunger. Now think about what you could do to change that. You're not going to get rid of poverty next year or even ten years from now but a small act on your part will make all the difference to several people out there. Do something you enjoy and I promise you will be changing lives, one smile at a time.
You could:
Volunteer in your community.
There are plenty of opportunities in your community to do something you love with people who can benefit from your service.
Volunteer globally.
Take a trip to Ethiopia and plan your own project that will be an eye-opening experience for you and help others in need, all while enjoying the beauty and culture that Ethiopia and it's people have to offer. Check out Worldwide Orphans (wwo.org), which has volunteer abroad opportunities or plan your own trip!
Donate to an organization.
There are most likely a great deal of nonprofit organizations that work on a cause that is important to you. They completely rely on donations from us so it is important to donate so that they can keep doing what they do. If you are unable to volunteer (and even if you are), make a difference through charity.
Sadly, there are not many organizations that help orphans in Harar. Here, you can donate to our project, which currently specifically works with orphans in Harar. Email us with requests for specific donations (clothing, meals, toys...).
